An in depth look at the concept of time and how it is recorded in fossil and geology records, from an instantaneously preserved moment to millennia.

 

 

 

 

Dinosaur Exhibition

Leeds City Museum. 

 

A rare and unique chance to see the dinosaur material from the Leeds Museums archives. Featuring a life size representation of a Hypselospinus, and cabinets that contain other dinosaur fossils and casts.

 

Identifying and Interpreting geology

Wednesday Evening classes: 16th, 23rd, 30th March 2016

6:30pm -9:00pm.  Free.

Leeds Museum Discovery Centre.

A series of three evening classes looking at: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic petrology and the geological conditions and environment that occur for their formation. Features handling specimens and animations, (please note; all three nights are intrinsically linked) with refreshments provided.

Carboniferous UK – Study day

A chance to investigate the complex environments and geological processes that existed during the Carboniferous period. Looking at fossil specimens of marine fauna, terrestrial flora and fauna, and petrology. Lunch provided.

 

Ammonite Evolution

A look at ammonite morphology, ecology and sequencing their evolutionary traits. Refreshments provided.

 

Drawing workshops for adults

A series of three adult Saturday art workshops, giving you the unique chance to draw some fantastic objects from the Leeds Museums: Geology, Natural Science, World culture, Archaeology, Industrial & Social history collections. Equipment is not provided, so please bring everything you need, including paper. Refreshments provided.
